Rātaka ō te wiki - Wiki Whitu

Kia Ora whānau rāua tamariki,

Week Seven is here! This Term is flying by, and it is fantastic to see our Tāmariki enthusiastic and engaged in their learning. We have extended our time on Ōku Tūrangawaewae as our innovative students are doing a fantastic job of showcasing their learning in creative ways.

Next week we will be starting our first conceptual curriculum topic, which focuses on the natural resource Water. This will have links throughout curriculum areas and a focus on Science and STEM. To lead up to this we will be carrying out STEM exploration later in the week.

This week’s homework is set to support our STEM focus, activate prior knowledge and ignite their passion. You can find this on the blog, and attached below. We resume Wednesday swimming at Ashhurst this week. This is a compulsory part of the curriculum. Please help your child in remembering to bring their togs. If your child is unable to attend a session, please notify a homeroom teacher.

Unfortunately the cancellation of swimming sports last week meant our students did not get to showcase their swimming talents. We are currently formulating a plan to allow the competitive events to run and will keep you informed as the plan develops.

Inter-School Tryathlon is on Wednesday. We wish those competing the best!

Entries for the Weetbix Tryathlon close tonight. If your tamariki is interested in taking part in this event, click on this link to register. This is not a school-run event. Students need to enter individually and have parent transport and support for the event.

Parent-Teacher interviews are running in Week 9 from Monday to Wednesday. Bookings are now available to book online. Please visit the School Interviews website to make a booking from Thursday this week onwards. If you have any problems booking online, please contact your Pouako.

Ngā Mihi,
Kahurangi Pouako
