Rātaka ō te wiki - Wiki Waru

Kia Ora whānau rāua tamariki,

Ka rawe to all of those tamariki who performed at Te Pae Tamariki on Friday (as well as those parents who supported them). It was such a fantastic way to celebrate all the hard work our students have been putting into practice this term. We were all buzzing after the performance! We are already talking about all the things we can bring into our performances for the rest of the year to continue to celebrate our unique and amazing culture - we can’t wait! We will be sharing a video later in the week so keep an eye out!

Food for Thought Trip - This week we will be focusing on our Food for Thought nutritional programme run by Food Stuffs. This programme is aimed at helping students make healthier food and lifestyle choices. We will have our very own ‘Food for Thought’ nutritionist who will take our students through entertaining and informative classroom sessions on Tuesday and Thursday, and an educational visit to Pak’n’Save on Friday. Each student will receive a lunch box and meal planner. We will be travelling to Pak’n’Save on Friday 22nd June by bus - $5.00 will be added to your child’s account to cover transport costs. We still require parental help for each hapu’s visit at the following times. At this stage we do not have enough support to be able to go ahead with the trips. Please email your tamariki’s pouako if you are available to help - and thank you to those who have offered to help :)

School Photos are this week! Orders closed on Friday, June 15th - if you have any further questions regarding this please contact the school office. School Photos will be held on Wednesday 20th June. Please ensure all students come in correct and tidy uniform so they look the part!

Great Kiwi Science Competition will be held tomorrow - students need to ensure they have devices charged as the competition will be carried out digitally. Good luck to all those taking part!

Assembly this week will be hosted by Toa pod. We would love to see you there.

Learning Celebrations will be held on Wednesday, 27th of June from 1:30-3pm. We invite all whānau in to share in our tamariki’s learning - we hope to see you there! Learning plans will be sent home at the beginning of next week.

A union meeting will be held on Thursday 28th of June (Week 9). As all staff are members of the NZEI we would appreciate if you are able to take your students home at the beginning of lunch to allow us to attend the meeting. If you are unable to do so, please let the school office know by Tuesday 26th June to allow us to ensure we have provisions in place to supervise those students staying at school.

Homework continues to be the Chapter Chat independent tasks. These have been shared with our tamariki and are available on the blog.

Ngā Mihi,
Kahurangi Pouako
