Rātaka ō te wiki - Wiki Rua

Kia Ora whānau rāua tamariki,

We hope you had a fantastic Labour Weekend break and enjoyed the beautiful summer weather! It has been great to see our ākonga start the week being really excited about their preparations for Ag Day.

This term is full of exciting opportunities - Super 6 Sports, Ag Day preparation and competitions, School Athletics day, participation in New Zealand’s Healthiest School programme and our Conceptual Curriculum topic ‘The Canvas for Change’. This is a chance to explore how we can use the arts to convey a message.

Our rural inspired jars are coming along nicely - we are really impressed with the creativeness and thought that have gone into these to be ready for Ag Day on Saturday 27th October. We appreciate you supporting your tamaiti in completing their home tasks for this day. Please see attached details of both school and home tasks, and the general outline and expectations for the day.

Super 6 Sports are this Thursday. For those students who are participating please come to school in your sports uniform - remembering to bring your school hat, packed lunch and a large bottle of water - good luck for the day! A further ‘final reminder’ notice will be sent home to participants on Wednesday about the tournament.

School Athletics will take place in Week 4. We are continuing to practise our athletics on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure you have correct clothing and footwear. Please find attached information and a parent help letter. We really appreciate those that can spare some time to support our tamariki on the day.

Homework for this week will also be preparing home tasks for Ag Day - a great opportunity to share in your child’s creative endeavours - we look forward to seeing what they come up with!

Chapter Chat activities, basic facts and spelling words - all of which are on our Kahurangi blog if students require extra homework opportunities.
